At
YMCA Summer Day Camps, a lifetime of
rewarding memories awaits your child. Summer
Day Camps enable a child to have a camp
experience while returning home at the end
of each day. Children have the opportunity to
build self-confidence, discover new skills,
develop a respect for the outdoors and make
new friends. Best of all, you can be assured
that while your kids are exploring new ways
to have fun, they are being well cared for
in a friendly, safe environment. |

We
take great pride in our excellent staff.
Many of our camp directors and counselors
return year after year. All staff undergo a
complete background check and participate in
specialized camp training. All staff are CPR
and First Aid certified.
You
can sign up for one week or the entire
summer! We operate on a schedule to meet
your needs and are open from 6:00 AM - 6:00
PM, Monday - Friday. Structured day camp
activities generally take place between the
hours of 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
The
YMCA has been in the camping business for
over 100 years. In fact, the YMCA founded
organized camping, and we remain the
nation's largest provider of summer
programs, serving more than 2 million
children each year.
YMCA Summer Day Camp is for boys and girls
ages 5-12. The campers are active throughout
the day with field trips, crafts, games and
sports at each site.
Campers generally swim twice per week and
attend one other field trip (e.g. bowling,
skating, miniature golf) and a combined all
camp activity on Fridays. As camp is very
active throughout the day, we ask all
children to be prepared for action-packed
days.
Camps are located
throughout the Tri-Cities area. However,
space is limited at each location, so sign
up early to guarantee your child’s spot. A
YMCA membership is not required.

Safety
In daily programming, the YMCA
puts safety as the top priority. This
includes not only physical safety, but the
security of knowing every child is welcomed
and nurtured. Policies, procedures and
training are all established in order to
keep the children in our program safe.
What
To Bring to Camp
Campers must bring their own
lunch and beverage. We serve an afternoon
snack. Early-morning campers can bring a
morning snack. We recommend children wear
comfortable clothing, socks and durable
closed-toe shoes. Send a jacket or
sweatshirt on cold days. All campers will
participate in water play/swimming and will
need to have a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen
with them daily. Please put their full names
on their belongings. The YMCA is not
responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle
every day. We recommend each child bring a
backpack for all of his/her belongings.
Field
Trips
Please have your child at his/her
camp site by 8:15 AM on field trip days in
time to participate in the scheduled
activity. Please review your child’s weekly
itinerary for exact departure and arrival
times for field trips, as they may change
occasionally for specific trips/activities.
Character Development
Our YMCA views character
development as a never-ending process and it
is an integral part of daily activities. We
believe your child will come away from YMCA
Day Camp able to make good choices, more
willing to get along and cooperate. Campers
strengthen their values, practice new skills
and learn more about their roles in keeping
their neighborhoods strong.

Payments must be made at the YMCA office
which is open Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30

Financial Assistance
In an effort to make our fees affordable for
everyone in our community, the YMCA provides
financial assistance using a sliding fee
scale based on annual gross household income
and family size. The YMCA makes every effort
to ensure that no person will be denied
access to programs because of financial
hardship. The YMCA’s Financial Assistance
Program is supported by contributions from
individuals and the United Way. Application
forms are available at the YMCA office. The
YMCA accepts DSHS subsidies for State
Licensed camp programs.
