Martin Luther King Center

If walls could talk, at the MLKC they’d tell tales of thousands of lives gently shaped by the YMCAs character development program. They’d talk of boys becoming men, of girls learning about positive self-esteem, of college visits that set in motion dreams of a brighter future, of passionate pool tournaments, and of bodies transformed in the gym. Most of all, the walls at the MLKC would be proud to have provided local youth with a safe place to call their own for over 30 years.

The MLKC offers something for everyone. A weight room for teens and adults, a game room open to all, a gymnasium to develop healthy bodies, a homework center to foster a love of learning, a chance to connect with positive role models, and the opportunity to get involved in programs that foster growth in spirit, mind, and body.

The Martin Luther King Center is a collaborative effort between the YMCA and the City of Pasco. The YMCA staffs and operates the center, which is open all year long. We are able to subsidize most programs at the center thanks to community support through contributors to the YMCA Open Doors Annual Campaign and the United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties.

NEW!  Revitilized Pasco YMCA

Thanks to the City of Pasco and Leadership Tri-Cities class XV the Pasco YMCA has a brand new face.  Lots of volunteers helped remodel to center to make it a better place to serve youth and families in our community with a new workout room, new lights in the gymnasium, new computer lab and homework center.  Leadership Tri-Cities' focus of the revitalization project was to work with local youth in the creation of a 75' long 10' tall mural with the help from  local artist, Jenny Rieke.

Youth involved with this project were mentored by Leadership Tri-Cities class XV and local artist Jenny Rieke through the planning and marketing to the design and painting.  This project, thanks to Leadership Tri-Cites will leave a long, lasting impact on youth in our community, especially at the Pasco YMCA.  If you'd like to read more about this extraordinary project please visit Leadership Tri-Cities Class XV website and to view a photo album of the center visit our Facebook Page, or take a tour of the center yourself!
